High speed camera with 1550 fps available for Theta Optical Tensiometer

Full speed ahead!

We are happy to announce the availability of a new high speed camera for Theta Optical Tensiometer. The high speed camera offers 1,550 fps with a 512x336 resolution. The cutting edge combination can be utilized for example for studying fast absorptions with powders, papers and films, mass transfer phenomena and hydrodynamics. The high speed Theta Optical Tensiometer is the fastest goniometer on the market offering a resolution of 512 x 336 pixels.

Such a high frame per second rate enables observation of extremely fast phenomena with unique accuracy. As an example, we have a water drop landing on a metal surface where we can observe the periodic elongation and contraction in both the horizontal and vertical directions. The amplitude and frequency of the oscillations can be measured, and the coating can be optimized to minimize or maximize the oscillations as necessary.
